The outrageous rocker is famed for her wild party lifestyle and copious drug taking. She was married to late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain, and has dated a string of stars including Edward Norton and Billy Corgan since his suicide in 1994.

Despite this, the star insists the publics perception of her is vastly at odds with how she behaves in private.

You may not know this but Im possibly the most separate from my public image as any celebrity has ever lived, she said. In fact, Im outrageously wholesome. Ive even been told that Im a bit prudish.

The 46-year-old is hugely romantic, and finds it hard to get over men she has dated. She wouldnt change that for anything though, as she thinks it helps her music sound more powerful.
