(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Keith Urban says there is one profound song on his new album which will change the way he writes forever.
The country musician is currently promoting his record Get Closer, and says its one of the most emotional albums hes ever released. The star is married to Nicole Kidman and they have two-year-old daughter Sunday Rose together, and many of the LPs tracks seemingly reference the pair.
In Without You, Keith sings: The travelling, the singing the fast cars, the guitars/They are all just second to this life, this love that you and I've been dreamin' of for so long.
He didnt write the track, but says the lyrics struck a chord when he heard it. He thinks its the most beautiful song hes ever performed, and explained he hopes to pen something like it in the future.
It's the most autobiographical song I never wrote. I'm pretty sure if I'd tried to write that, I would have filled it with metaphors and analogies, whereas this is perfectly sound and beautifully put, Keith said.
I have this feeling that song's going to affect the way I write in the future, to remind me of the power of simplicity. It was really profound to hear it from somebody else... I've always loved cars, and obviously guitars. It's crazy that that song could name check every single thing in my life. I've also had all of those things in my life without Nic, and they mean nothing without love. That's profound."
Keith likes his music to link to his life, but says its not as simple as many people think. He gets frustrated when people assume a lyric in his song is a direct reference to his life, just as Nicole does when people assume her movies are just like her life.
Even in the film choices she makes, people will ask, 'Is that what's going on in her life?' For me, I'm looking for the feelings in a song that resonate with me, for a multitude of reasons, he told the Los Angeles Times. I'm also looking for songs that might help other people too." (C) Cover Media
