(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Courtney Love can't understand why her daughter hasn't included her on a list of things which "make her smile".

The Hole frontwoman is mother to 19-year-old Frances Bean Cobain, her daughter with late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The pair have a troubled relationship, with Frances requesting to be removed from her mother's care when she was 17. The teenager took out a restraining order against Courtney and went to be cared for by her paternal grandmother and aunt.

The two are still not on good terms, which is something Courtney wants to rectify.

She's spoken about Frances in a new interview with Vanity Fair, revealing how hurt she was when she found pages from her daughter's old diaries, including one titled Things That Make Me Smile.

"Why am I not on it?" Courtney asked. "Why doesn't she put, Watching old movies with my mom?'"

Courtney is still struggling to come to terms with why her daughter no longer wants to see her. She recently spoke of how "beautiful" Frances is and still believes they will reconcile one day.

"I'd give anything to hear the sound of her heels walking down the hall past my bedroom," she said.

The exact reasons for Frances' emancipation haven't been revealed. However, there have been reports there are "allegations of domestic violence" in her file.

Courtney has also claimed her daughter asked to be removed from her care as she thought she was stealing from her trust fund. (C) Cover Media
