Danny Dyer: I'd love to play a medic

23rd May 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Danny Dyer would love to star in a medical drama like ER because it would make him sound intelligent.

The actor, who is best known for his role in Human Traffic, is a big fan of the American drama based around the events in a hospital which ended in 2009.

The 33-year-old thinks playing a medic would be challenging and he was always impressed with how believable the actors such as Anthony Edwards and George Clooney - were when he tuned in.

"I'm a massive fan of ER and I've always thought, What a part!' You don't know what you're doing obviously but it makes you sound really intelligent and makes you look like you know what you're doing," he told Cover Media. "It would be a fascinating part to play."

Danny, who usually portrays characters who end up in some sort of trouble or are involved in criminal activities, would find it interesting to talk in medical jargon.

ER first aired in 1994 and the actor added he would like to star in such a long-running show.

"I'd love to do something like ER. A surgeon or something like that. Those kind of actors haven't got a f**king clue what they're talking about, but the dialogue they're coming out with when they're stitching someone up that fascinates me as an actor. I think that would be such a good role to play," he said. "I'd love a long-running series. I would definitely like that."

Danny can be seen in new movie Age of Heroes which is in UK cinemas now and on DVD and Blu-ray on June 13. (C) Cover Media
