Dave Grohl discusses life-changing record

5th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dave Grohl claims American punk band Bad Brains changed his life and made him absolutely determined to become a musician.

The Foo Fighters frontman has cited the hardcore punk groups 1982 eponymous album as one of the most influential of his career.

Dave believes that without listening to the bands music, he may never have become a member of his former group Nirvana or gone on to front Foo Fighters.

They were connected in a way Id never seen before. They made me absolutely determined to become a musician, the basically changed my life, and changed the lives of everyone who saw them, he said.

Dave, who writes the songs for the Foo Fighters, also looks to Bad Brains for inspiration in how to pull off an amazing live performance.

The 41-year-old went to see the band play when he was younger and was permanently affected by what he experienced.

Seeing them live was, without a doubt, always one of the most intense, powerful experiences you could ever have, he told British NME magazine. They were just, oh God, words fail me, incredible. (C) Cover Media
