(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Debra Messing has filed paperwork to formally end her 11-year marriage to Daniel Zelman.

The couple announced their separation last year but continued to live together for the sake of their eight-year-old son, Roman.

TMZ reports that the Will & Grace star has cited "irreconcilable differences" in the divorce documents that were filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court today.

Debra, 43, is reportedly requesting joint custody of their little boy and is also seeking spousal and child support.

The couple tied the knot on September 3 2000, and although they have split, sources told the site that they still getting along very well.

People magazine claims that Debra started dating her Smash co-star Will Chase around the time the announcement of her marriage split was made.

And Debra recently said that she's "okay with people being unhappy with me."

"It's a very long time," the actress told Ladies Home Journal about her relationship. "And I am at peace with the journey we've had. I feel like the 20 years we had together has been a huge success. And despite the fact that everything is changing, I think everyone is thriving." (C) Cover Media
