(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matthew Fox may be ordered to complete treatment for alcohol abuse.

The 45-year-old Lost star pleaded no contest to driving under the influence of intoxicants in Oregon on June 1.

And People magazine reports that the actor could avoid time in jail if he successfully completes a court diversion program.

"He has to go to an evaluator for alcohol [abuse] and complete any recommended treatment program," Deputy District Attorney Cliff Lu told the publication.

The DUI charge is "certain to be dismissed" if Matthew completes the terms of the diversion program within a year.

Meanwhile, a woman who had accused Matthew of assaulting her back in September has withdrawn her case against him.

Bus driver Heather Bormann alleged that Matthew had struck her in the breast, arm, leg and private parts after trying to board her vehicle. He had countersued saying she made the claim up. (C) Cover Media
