The fashion designers surprising love of the archetypal American fast food has been leaked in a book by Project Runway guru Tim Gunn. In it, Gunn describes Diane actually dragging him through the streets of New York on a desperate search for a sausage fix.

We sashayed down the sidewalk, Dianes arm wrapped around mine, he writes in Gunns Golden Rules: Lifes Little Lessons for Making it Work. I held the diner door for Diane to enter, and she burst in as if she expected silver trays filled with every kind of hotdog and condiment to greet her.

Gunn insists the designer is not shy about her unusual obsession, or making sure whole restaurants are aware of it. He claims she will even go so far as to call out in desperation for one, getting anyones attention until she has what she needs.

Something told me she had never been in a place like this before, Gunn writes, After sighing heavily she called out to the rather cavernous space, I need a hotdog! Someone, anyone, please bring me a hotdog!

The Golden Rules book also shows Gunns creative streak when it comes to revenge. He cant abide rudeness, and discusses the steps hed take to show anyone the error of their ways if he heard them being mean.

If I were a waiter and someone talked rudely to me, I know I would be seriously tempted, he writes. I would never intentionally put someones life at risk, but half a dozen laxative tablets dissolved in a cup of coffee would be very sweet payback indeed. (C) Cover Media
