While there were many actresses wanting to work opposite Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan in Sooraj Barjatya's 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo', it was Sonam Kapoor who bagged the role.

As per a recent report, we hear that it was Sonam's father Anil Kapoor who worked some 'influence' and recommended his daughter's name to Salman.

Salman and Anil share a good relationship and it was on Anil's reuqest that Salman spoke to Barjatya to cast Sonam for the film.

A source close to the film revealed that after having a few discussions, both Salman and Barjatya felt that Sonam would fit the part perfectly.

'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' recently went on floors and is set to release in Diwali, 2015.
