Bollywood's critically acclaimed actor Rahul Bose, often known for his real-to-life portrayal of characters in his off-beat films, is ready with yet another soul-shaking film 'I Am' where he plays the role of a homosexual.
Rahul says that he has no qualms in portraying a gay character on-screen. The actor says that often people hesitate to play the role of a gay on-screen, citing reasons like reaction from society, parents and future relationships with the opposite sex, that people feel will be hampered. Rahul jokingly said that as his parents are no more in the world, he is single and least cares about what people think, he is the most eligible actor to play the role of a homosexual in any film. Rahul's main reason for accepting this role is to portray the plague homosexuals have to go through, which is still to be explored in reality.
In 'I Am' Rahul Bose plays a gay character where his encounter with a male prostitute is exposed by a handful of police officers and how his life moves on thereafter. Rahul's story is one of the four central stories around which the whole movie revolves.
