The British actor has revealed he wanted to be an actor from a young age because he knew the career would allow him to perform a variety of exciting and dangerous stunts. Dominic is better known for playing romantic roles in films such as hit musical Mamma Mia! and period drama The Duchess, but he has revealed a secret desire to appear in an action movie.

When he was growing up, Dominic loved watching adventure films and hoped he could one day land a role as an action hero.

“When I was very young I saw a production of Cabaret and I thought, ‘That’s exciting,’” Dominic told the October issue of Marie Claire magazine. “And the films I grew up with as well, like Blade Runner, Back to the Future, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off… I thought, ‘I want to do that – fly that spaceship or drive that Ferrari.’”

The 32-year-old hunk admits that despite being a successful Hollywood star, he still has fears and insecurities. His biggest worry is losing his loved ones or seeing his looks fade as he gets older.

Dominic believes living in London doesn’t help establish a positive attitude, because so many people around him are also experiencing anxiety in their lives.

“It’s scary to think that the people you love are no longer going to be with you, getting old, your double chin getting bigger,” he explained. “I met a cab driver this morning who said that everyone in London is terrified of losing – losing your phone, your job, your money – losing something or being the loser. He was a therapist-slash-cab driver.” (C) Cover Media
