(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dominic Cooper feels happy that his career has been more of a "progression" than a sudden rise to stardom.
The 33-year-old British actor still resides in the UK and has not got sucked into the Hollywood lifestyle despite achieving international fame as the male lead in 2008 global smash Mamma Mia!.
Dominic graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in 2000, and gained experience on the stage and television before becoming a movie star. He's grateful that Mamma Mia! wasn't his first job.
"I still live here. I'm happy I didn't get thrown into doing a lead in a massive Hollywood film. It's been a progression," he smiled during an interview with Empire magazine.
"I've always been appreciative of being in any film."
Dominic's film success has seen him gain heartthrob status. The actor appreciates his fans, although tries not to take screaming fans too seriously.
"All that stuff, you have to take it as a bit of fun," he beamed. (C) Cover Media
