(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Duran Duran claim their fans have a lower pitch scream nowadays.
The British New Wave band were one of the most successful acts in the 1980s, and enjoyed success with songs including Rio, Girls on Film, The Wild Boys and A View to a Kill.
They are currently promoting new album All You Need Is Now, which has been produced by Mark Ronson, and are proud to have retained such a loyal fan base.
However, they admit the vocal reaction to their live performances has changed somewhat and is not quite as piercing as it used to be in their chart heyday.
The crowd noise is slightly different its a slightly lower pitch. Its all those guys in the audience, keyboardist Nick Rhodes explained. But funnily enough, I think our audience is still extraordinarily excitable. Weve remained lucky like that.
Nick revealed the band are in the Guinness Book of World Records in Australia for having the loudest pre-show concert noise. In fact, when they first began touring many years ago, the fans could barely contain their enthusiasm when they appeared on stage.
We started getting encores as the support act. Then the screaming started, Nick recalled. It was so loud that literally, for the first tour in America, we could hardly hear what we were playing on stage. (C) Cover Media
