January 10, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Emma Watson & Rupert Grint highest earning on-screen couple! Here is one more fact to chew on, for all those Potter maniacs. The Forbes bosses and money mag went under the table lamp and did some serious calculations to discover that Rupert Grint and Emma Watson of the Harry Potter series were the highest grossing on screen couple.The criteria was simple, an actor and actress must appear opposite each other on screen for at least two times in the last 10 years to get featured on the list.
Other couples gracing the list were Liv Tyler and Viggo Mortensen from The Lord of the Rings franchise, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley from Pirates of The Caribbean franchise. None of them could give competition to the Harry Potter duo as they took the top spot with double the earnings to that of the couple in the second position. The Lord of the Rings couple bagged the 2nd position with 3 billion dollars but Watson and Grint blew away all competition by earning 6.3 Billion dollars from their Harry Potter franchise.
The irony of the whole story is that Emma doesnt know how to spend her fortune. A website quoted her saying that she have so much money that she don't know what to do with that. All she has bought till date is a laptop and a Prius after she got her drivers license. She has spent some money on her education and thats pretty much of it.
When asked about her relationship status, she stated that she was still single (off-screen) and intended to keep it that way as "its rubbish being her boyfriend.
