Emma Watson: I need to recharge my batteries

26th August 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emma Watson has hinted she is planning to take a break from acting.

The 20-year-old actress was just ten when she shot to fame playing know-it-all witch Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film franchise. She recently finished shooting the final two films in the series, and is now unsure about her next move.

While her co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint have several film projects lined up, Emma’s schedule is clear and she is planning to keep it that way for a while.

“I think I need to find some real belief in myself away from [acting],” Emma told British newspaper The Daily Express. “I know that I can play Hermione but I don’t know... I really think I need to recharge my batteries and go and be me for a bit.”

Emma is currently a student at Brown University in the US and has frequently discussed her desire to be a “normal” young person.

Whatever she chooses to do as a career, Emma is glad she appeared in Harry Potter because she made so many good friends.

“I really got on with Emma Thompson,” Emma said. “I loved how she was so down-to-earth, so kind and she doesn’t ignore anyone. She pays attention to everyone from the sound guy to the director. I really loved her to bits.

“Maggie Smith is an absolute sweetie. She sends me chocolate and a note at Christmas.” (C) Cover Media
