Emraan's next not based on 'Mr. Natwarlal'

Before you jump the gun and make the assumption that Emraan Hashmi's next, 'Raja Natwarlal' is a remake of Amitabh Bachchan's classic hit 'Mr. Natwarlal', hold your horses.

The film is not any remake, but is inspired by the popularity of real life conman Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava aka Natwarlal from Bihar.

Natwarlal was famous for his notorious scams. He even sold the Taj Mahal and the Indian Parliament, and had successfully managed to escape the jail on eight occasions.

There were rumors that Emraan plays this infamous conman in the film ,however, film's director Kunal Deshmukh has shunned these rumors.

"Emraan plays a street hustler Raja in the film, who aspires to be a big conman like Natwarlal," said Kunal.

So when asked why the film is called 'Raja Natwarlal', if it is not based on his life, he says, "It's for some different reasons. For any conman in India, Natwarlal is an idol and Raja has similar aspirations. That is the reason behind the title. Apart from that, there is no connection to the life of Natwarlal," clears Kunal.
