Endukante Premanta - Movie Review

9th June 2012

Director: A. Karunakaran

Cast: Ram & Tamannaah Bhatia

Rating: 2.5/5

Love is Eternal

Director Karunakaran has carved a niche in Tollywood for his love stories. In Endukante Premanta too, he presents a romantic story, but with a difference. In addition to love, it also deals with reincarnation and other things.

Though a risky subject with no padding in terms of commercial elements, Karunakaran succeeds in holding the interest of the audience. On that front, he is helped by the lead actors (Ram and Tamannaah), comedy and cinematography.

Although, the fact is that this film may not match up to the director's earlier hits. If only the youngsters enjoy the slow pace then it is sure to be another hit for Ram and Karunakaran.

Ram & Tamannaah in Endukante Premanta

Ram (Ram) is sent by his father to Paris so that he can learn to live on his own. Here he meets Sravanthi (Tamannaah) who has escaped from home. The two then have to get to India in three days.

Ram discovers a shocking truth about Sravanthi which changes everything. Why did Sravanthi choose Ram to escape? What is a link between the two?

The role of a spoilt 22 year-old son of a rich father is played well by Ram. He carries the film with ease and his performance is more matured. Tamannaah is cool and pretty. The chemistry between them is good. A few comic moments here and there steal the show.

Endukante Premanta

Andrews captures Paris and Switzerland in all their picturesque splendour, while G V Prakash Kumar composes some foot-tapping numbers.

Dialogues are good in parts. Editing should have been better. Producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore has made sure that this film is mounted on a lavish scale.

The film, which was mentioned to be a romantic, action, family drama, stood up to the expectations on many scores and is a slow feel good movie.
