Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is one of the most beloved persons in the nation. Her recent success has made her the most talked about Bollywood star of our times.

But this Sunday morning saw her emerge as a strong woman of substance. On a social media platform, the actress publicly lashed out a leading national daily for their unethical reporting about her assets.

The 'Finding Fanny' actress was hugely upset over a story on her 'cleavage show' in what she called, "supposedly India's leading newspaper". The tweet added — and this is "News"?

Within no time, the active users on twitter flooded the platform with their tweets in support of media as a result of which #IStandWithDeepikaPadukone started trending in few hours of her tweet. She further went bold in her statement.

"Yes! I am a woman. I have breasts and a cleavage! You got a problem!!??" Deepika tweeted after her first blow to the daily. She didn't stop there as she later advised the publication to learn a lesson or two.

"Don't talk about women's empowerment when you don't know how to respect women!" she tweeted. Her three back-to-back tweets generated over 1,500 re-tweets in less than an hour.

The publication, in it's defense, stated that they intended to compliment her. "It's a compliment! You look so great that we want to make sure everyone knew! :)"

While Deepika didn't reply for long, her 'Finding Fanny' co-star Arjun Kapoor definitely gave a fitting reply to them. "We have hit a new low today...forget complimenting a woman have the ability to respect a woman first," he wrote on Twitter.
