There was nothing funny about how Ricky Gervais went on to heap insults on top Hollywood celebrities and the guests who had been invited with their movies to Golden Globe.

From saying that The Tourist was not watched by people to demeaning the organisers by adding that they had taken money from its lead cast to bring them to the ceremony, to saying Robert Downey has been to more rehab and prisons than other places, Ricky said it all. His mindless gibberish must have hurt the organisers enough to just pull him off the stage for an hour and brainwash him to mend his manners.

Yes, Ricky was not to be seen anywhere on the host seat for an hour, during which people went in a tizzy to decide why and what is happening to him backstage. The guests, at whom the jokes were aimed, were almost forced to give him back a taste of his own medicine.

For example, Tom Hanks mentioned that Ricky is no more chubby or good at heart. Harvey Weinstein commented that the string of cruelty Ricky had unleashed would certainly put him in soup and make his second hosting stint in Hollywood the last one!
