(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Gwyneth Paltrow's plans to release a music album appear to have suffered a setback after talks broke down with a record label.
The Hollywood actress has impressed with her vocal talents in recent months, after playing a singer in movie Country Strong, landing a recurring role in musical television show Glee and performing live at the Grammy Awards and the Oscars. Gwyneth previously admitted she would be interested in working on a country album and was believed to be considering deals from several labels. Although the star was said to be close to signing with Atlantic Records, it has now been reported the discussions have come to a halt.
"Atlantic bosses were very interested, and [Atlantic owner] Warner chief Lyor Cohen was very supportive," a source told New York Post. "But then the talks halted and the deal fizzled out. There was a rumour that Paltrow wanted $1 million to sign, but that is a ridiculous figure.
Atlantic is still interested in signing her."
Gwyneth is trying to juggle a hectic work schedule at the moment. She is promoting a new cookbook and is considering several movie scripts. It has also been rumoured she may reprise her role as Holly Holliday for a surprise appearance on the Glee tour this summer. A representative for the 38-year-old star claims she is unsure if she still wants to work on an album.
"Atlantic was not the only company pursuing her, and she still has not decided if she wants to record an album," the spokesperson told the publication. "It is still something she is considering." (C) Cover Media
