Halle Berry resolves feud with ex

16th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Halle Berry and her ex-partner Gabriel Aubry are now speaking again, and have decided to settle their custody battle out of the public eye.

The American star and male model have two-year-old daughter Nahla together, but split last year. Although their break-up initially seemed amicable with Gabriel accompanying Halle on work trips so he could spend time with their daughter things recently soured.

In December, Gabriel filed papers asking to be formally recognised as the father of Nahla and requesting shared custody of the child. Earlier this month, Halle pulled out of a movie to focus on her dispute with Gabriel, and it was also revealed she has concerns about Nahlas well-being when she spends extended periods of time with her father. Gabriel hit back by insisting he had no interest in having a public spat with the actress, and wanted things to be settled behind closed doors in court.

Halle is now said to have come round to his way of thinking, and has decided against seeking sole custody of their child. I think Halle started realising that things were getting out of control. It was just getting too nasty and too public, a source told RadarOnline.com.

Another source added: Gabriel and Halle even resumed talking again last week, and it seems that Halle is going to be making it easier for Gabriel to spend time with Nahla, which has been a sticking point between the two up till now.

"Hopefully this is the start of the two of them being able to form some kind of workable co-parenting relationship for the sake of their daughter.

When the disagreement reached its peak, a number of allegations about Gabriel surfaced, including that he had used racist language in the past. He decided against responding to them, telling pals all that mattered to him was spending time with Nahla, who is three next month.

His thing has always been that he will save the truth and fight, if needs be, in the privacy of family court, where no cameras or press are allowed, an insider told the website. (C) Cover Media
