Vishal Veeru Devgan... Rings a bell? No? Well, that is the real name of actor, director, producer Ajay Devgn. As many as 88 films to his credit, he has three more films coming this year and it is going to be a busy birthday for his today.

Born in Mumbai on April 2, 1969, Ajay Devgn debuted in Phool Aur Kaantee in 1991 and earned a Filmfare Award for Best Newcomer. From here onwards, he started acting in films which established him as an action hero. But soon he turned to comedy like in Ishq. His performance in Zakhm earned him several awards, including the National Award for Best Actor.  

In 2002, he featured in Ram Gopal Varma's fictional expose of Mumbai underworld Company. He was nominated for Filmfare Best Actor Award and won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. 2006 was a remarkable year in his career as he starred in two of his famous films Golmaal and Omkara. His another significant role was in U, Me aur Hum, which was his first movie as a directot and he also acted in it with wife Kajol. But non of the films in his entire career have been as successful as Singham. This film proved to be a milestone in his career after which he established his own production house, Ajay Devgn Films. 

Ajay has always been a very private person and has not been linked to any actresses. On February 23, 1999, he married Hindi film actress Kajol. The couple has two children. Daughter Nysa was born April 20, 2003 and son Yug was born September 13, 2010. In August 2009, Devgan changed his last name to Devgn on the request of his family.
