(Cover) - EN Movies - Hayley Atwell worries that she will be typecast as a period actress.
The British beauty has worked on several English period productions including The Duchess and Brideshead Revisited. However, she was delighted to be cast as an action star in Captain America: The First Avenger - only to discover that that it was set in the 1940s.
"Yeah, I was looking to do something different, I had done a number of period dramas, and thought 'Yes, I've got an action film. Oh, f**k it's a period again.' Will I ever break away?" she laughed to ScreenCrave.com.
While bemused at starring in a period film once more, Hayley loved appearing in the movie alongside Chris Evans, who plays the superhero Captain America. And she credits her character's strengths as being similar to those of Hollywood glamour icons from that period.
"I think of women in the forties like Bette Davis or Katherine Hepburn, or my grandmother and I think, 'Wow, they knew their power as women, so beautifully'. And Peggy in the script had that too, and I love that about her," she explained. (C) Cover Media
