Veteran actress Hema Malini was honoured with a special award by Subhash Ghai's film institute Whistling Woods International Film School for her 40 years of contribution to the entertainment industry.

As the actress is still recuperating from the injuries she sustained in a road mishap in Rajasthan her daughter Esha Deol collected the award on her behalf.

She wrote on twitter, "thank Subhashji & all the Faculty of Whistling Wds for conferring on me ths prestigious Award. It will always hold a spl place in my heart"
