Henry Cavill: Brits are talented

8th August 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Henry Cavill says Hollywood is being stormed with British talent who are all "hitting their peak at the same time".

The British actor will portray Superman and his alter ego Clark Kent in director Zack Snyder's movie, Superman: Man of Steel, which is due for release in 2013.

The 28-year-old star believes the rise of English actors in movies at the moment is down to a blend of good timing and the quality of talent that is being nurtured.

"I think maybe it's an experience thing", he told Total Film. "I've done quite a few jobs over an 11-year career and maybe it just so happens that all the Brits are hitting their peak at the same time. No matter what age we are, we just seem to be coming into our stride.

"Maybe there are lots of people out there who haven't been seen yet. So we'll have to wait and see!"

Henry thinks it's refreshing to see an array of talented actors in the industry. The star says people should work together in Hollywood to produce the best films possible.

"It's great to have as many great actors out there as possible because it doesn't have to limited to just a few good actors. The more good actors the better. We can bl**dy well work together and make great movies together."

Henry is keeping his options open when it comes to film genres. The actor, who is fast becoming one of Hollywood's biggest rising stars, would like to tackle a more history-based role.

"I want to do everything! Maybe a fantasy type thing or some historical fiction. Maybe a sci-fi..." he mused.

Superman: Man of Steel also stars Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman's adoptive Earth parents. Amy Adams has also been confirmed to play the role of Lois Lane.

Portraying the iconic part will place Henry amid the likes of former Superman stars such as Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh. (C) Cover Media
