'I am happy,' says Karthika

Tollywood's recent release Dammu did not receive the reviews it had expected. However, Karthika Nair, who played one of the female leads in the movie, is happy with the way her performance is being received by the audience.

'I have been receiving a lot of phone calls appreciating me for Dammu. I am so thrilled,' she says.

The Rangam actress, who shared the screen space with top stars Jr.NTR and Trisha Krishnan in the movie, says, 'I was initially reluctant when director Boyapati Srinu told me that I was the second heroine. But he convinced me.'

She adds: 'Now I realise that his choice was right. My character gave me enough scope to perform and it is now well received by one and all. My mother (Radha) and aunt (Ambika) are happy with my performance in Dammu.'

It seems like the actress is much in demand these days as the buzz is that producers from Tollywood and Kollywood are eager to sign Karthika.
