I am happy, says Vijay

7th November 2011

A victorious smile is brimming on Vijay's face these days, courtesy the success of his Deepavali release Velayudham. “When the shooting was 60 per cent over, I told director Jayam Raja that the film would turn out to be a super hit. My prediction has come true now,” he says.

Vijay says doing commercial movies is not an easy task. “We have to satisfy all sections of the audience, irrespective of gender, age and other things, when it comes to a masala movie. It is not as easy as one thinks,” he says.

Reacting to a buzz before Velayudham's release that there were some difficulties in finding out theatres to release the film, Vijay says, “I don’t want to waste time talking about such things. The movie is a success and that’s all that matters. I am happy now.”

On his forthcoming film Nanban, directed by Shankar, he says, “Working with director Shankar has been an amazing experience. I was supposed to do Mudhalvan with him but it didn’t work out unfortunately. His knack of bringing out a performance from an actor was novel to me. He appreciates the little nuances in an actor.”
