The moment the name '
Karan Johar' falls on any ear, an image of his larger than life films and his persona as a glamorous personality pops up in our heads.
From making grand films to attending shows, parties as well as hosting and judging various television shows, Karan does it all.
Citing the multiple glamour jobs that he performs, there's a glamorous aura around him which has started to bother him now.
The filmmaker in a free whirling chat recently confessed that he is desperately seeking to break his monotonous image as a glamorous star.
"I am dying to be that intense director, who is above media and the trappings of the industry. Imtiaz Ali, Raju Hirani and Anurag Kashyap look like directors. I have become a mockery of myself, dancing in a reality show, judging, hosting. Barring reaching the opening of an envelope, I have reached everywhere else. And I am unapologetically this. My perception by the director community is very flawed. I look like a third row dancer," chuckles Karan stating the irony.
However, he also adds that he did
'Bombay Talkies' for the fact that he now wants people to take him seriously and collaborating with other filmmakers on that project was the golden opportunity for him.
"I did the film as I wanted my name along with Anurag, Zoya and Dibakar. I felt that critics, who otherwise think I am murdering cinema, may still have an opinion, but at least they will come and see it," added a jovial Karan who hasn't hesitated in confessing about his desires.
Glamour or no glamour Karan, we love you!!! Kudos for your bold confessions and attempt to break the stereotypical cage around you.
