Director Tigmanshu Dhulia had earlier signed the young actor Neil Nitin Mukesh to play a gangster in the sequel of "Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster".
However he has been now replaced by the talented power house performer Irrfan Khan. Producer Rahul Mitra claimed that the demand of the script forced the change in cast, “We felt that the script required an older actor. Neil would have been nice, and he was very excited to be part of the film. However, it was a creative decision that we took. We would love to work with Neil in the future,” justified Rahul.
He further talked about Irrfan’s casting in the role, “Irrfan's character is also from a royal family and takes great pride in the fact. However there are twists and turns, and he lands up in the haveli where the saheb and biwi live,” stated Rahul.
