(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jane Lynch is "tickled pink" about being chosen to host this year's Primetime Emmy Awards.
The 50-year-old American actress is famed for her hilarious portrayal of cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester in hit US musical comedy show Glee.
Jane in fact won an Emmy Award last year for her role in the programme, and has now been announced as the host of this year's prestigious television ceremony.
"I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys," she beamed in a statement. "I'm looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit."
The annual awards see the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognise achievement in American primetime television. John Shaffner, Chairman and CEO of the Academy, has praised the star - who participated in the ceremony's impressive opening number last year - for her unique talent.
"We're delighted to have Jane Lynch host the Primetime Emmys this year," he beamed.
"When our host has comedic, dramatic and musical talents as Jane proved in last year's opening number we know it's going to be fun for us and for the audience at home!"
The hotly anticipated ceremony will air in the US on Sunday September 18. (C) Cover Media
