(Cover) - EN Movies - Jason Momoa has compared his Conan the Barbarian character to James Bond.
The actor has the daunting task of replacing Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Conan the Barbarian remake. Arnold rose to fame after starring in the movie in 1982, and went on to reprise the character in Conan the Destroyer.
However, Jason insists his version is more similar to Sean Connery's James Bond than Arnold's take on the famed comic book star.
"Marcus Nispel [director] told me he wanted Conan to be like the Sean Connery of Bond. Just very charismatic and easy to fall in love with him," he said in a video chat with fans. "But then there's a certain point where he finds out who kills his father and that charisma goes out of the window... and it's straight Barbarian time."
Jason, who is best known for starring in Stargate: Atlantis, was delighted to be playing the iconic character.
"He's not a superhero, he's a man," Jason added. "He's truly a man but under the circumstances he does extraordinary things."
Conan the Barbarian is due out in August. (C) Cover Media
