(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jason Statham doesn't believe the cast of his newest film could "get any better".

The 44-year-old actor stars alongside Robert De Niro and Clive Owen in action film Killer Elite. Jason found working with such exemplary actors a magnificent experience.

"It's like boxing with Muhammad Ali, it's like winning a Formula One race," Jason told MTV News. "It's the top of the mountain, it doesn't get any better."

Although the ensemble was made up of seasoned thespians, the actors enjoyed delivering punches more than lines. In Jason's opinion, the fight scenes that he and Clive shot together are some of the most intense he's experienced in his career.

"[Our fight scenes] are only that good because of the intensity of Clive. There's so much at stake," Jason explained. "This is an A-list Academy nominated actor that is coming up toe-to-toe. He's a big guy, he's ferociously intense. We wanted it to feel real. We didn't want some overly choreographed routine."

The violent brawls on set were not brief. Fight scene shooting would carry on for days. Although the filming was unrelenting, Jason enjoyed the challenge.

"It went really well. It's the first time I have had somebody of that calibre to be able to do two, three, four days of beating the c**p out of each other," Jason said.

Killer Elite will be released in US cinemas this weekend. (C) Cover Media
