Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, who was unable to attend the wedding reception of Karthi-Ranjini in Chennai on Thursday evening, visited the actor and his wife at their house on Friday.

Karthi, the hot and happening actor of Tamil cinema, who is the son of veteran Sivakumar and younger brother of top star Suriya, entered wedlock with Erode-based Ranjini, in Coimbatore, last Sunday. The couple and their families hosted a grand reception at a posh hotel in Chennai on Thursday night and the event was attended by big guns of Tamil cinema and Tamil Nadu politics.

However, the Chief Minister, whose visit was expected at the event, was unable to turn up due to some unavoidable reasons. Hence she chose to personally visit the Sivakumars at their house.

"Jayalalithaa was granted a warm reception. She spent some time with the couple, gave them a gift and wished them a happy married life," say sources. Senior Ministers O Panneerselvam and K A Sengottaiyan too, had called on Karthi-Ranjini and conveyed their wishes.
