The actor and comedian, who is best known for his role in Curb Your Enthusiasm, has been cast in the Sacha Baron Cohen comedy that is currently in production in New York.
The 46-year-old, real name Jerry Brooks, is playing the role of "Usher" in the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
There are not many details known about the star's character as the Larry Charles-directed script is remaining closely-guarded.
The Dictator "tell[s] the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed", according to a Paramount press release.
The upcoming comedy, which is Sacha's fourth film following the success of movies such as Borat and Bruno, will also star Anna Faris and Ben Kingsley.
Megan Fox and John C. Reilly will cameo in the film, which is said to be inspired by the Iraqi novel Zabibah and the King, written by Saddam Hussein. (C) Cover Media
