Jon Hamm says that he doesn't "understand" car crash television.

The Mad Men star once again waded into his battle of words with Kim Kardashian after saying reality stars like her were "stupid."

Although Kim later called his comments about her "careless" maintaining that she was a successful businesswoman, Jon stands by his comments.

"I don't think they were careless; I think they were accurate," Jon told The Today Show.

"It's a part of our culture that I certainly don't identify with, and I don't really understand the appeal of it other than in a sort of car crash sensibility.

"And it's not something that I partake in or enjoy, but it is what it is and here we are. There are a lot of channels on the dial and those channels need to be filled up with things. It's different strokes for different folks.

Jon's Mad Men co-star Vincent Kartheiser agreed with the sentiment.

"I think our society enjoys turning on the television and seeing someone who's maybe awful and they can say, Maybe I'm not as terrible as that person.'" Vincent added.

Jon had said that "stupidity is being celebrated" and "being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity" during his now infamous interview with Elle UK.

Meanwhile, the 41-year-old is determined not to believe the hype about him being one of the most attractive men in showbiz.

"I don't necessarily think of myself like the handsome guy," he told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "That's reserved for Brad Pitt and Ryan Reynolds and those guys."

"It's certainly nice when people say nice things about you, don't get me wrong. I guess I never really thought of myself that way. I just wanted to be a regular person and try to portray parts as varied as I could."
