Karan Johar is repeatedly saying that his film ‘Agneepath’ is not a remake of his dad Yash Johar’s 1990 block buster. He says it’s an ode to the Sr. Johar, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Mukul Anand.

Big B had once said that originals should be untouched. He said that he made  a mistake by doing ‘RGV ki Aag’ that was a remake of ‘Sholay’ and is strictly against remakes now. Karan says that Big B would be one of the first persons he would show his ‘Agneepath’ to and would want to know his reaction.

According to Karan, the film has been tweaked and is quite different from the original. It’s director Karan Malhotra’s interpretation of the original and not a remake. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Rishi Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt and is slated to release in January 2012.
