(Cover) - EN Star Style - Kate Winslet enjoyed wearing the 30s costumes in Mildred Pierce.

The British actress plays the title role in the upcoming five-part HBO mini-series. The 35-year-old star portrays divorced single mom Mildred who decides to open a restaurant business, which irritates the already-strained relationship with her daughter Veda, played by Evan Rachel Wood.

"I really loved it because it's so different to the 20s and so different to 40s, because we span right across that time period," she told Style List of her attire in the show.

Kate has appeared in a number of period films before, including Sense and Sensibility. The actress says that she loves to explore how fashions change through the years and enjoys the fact that she is able to do this through her film and TV work.

"I loved watching each shape change as the years go by and how the colours shift and change based on the period, but also based on Mildred's success and her own sense of confidence and her own sense of style as well, which really does seem to develop. In the beginning she doesn't have a sense of style," she explained.

Despite being fond of her film costumes, Kate has confessed that she wouldnt choose to wear them on a day-to-day basis. The stunning blonde says that she will be sticking to her usual modern day attire.

"Under no circumstances," she joked when asked if shed wear the period costumes outside of the set. (C) Cover Media
