(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katie Holmes says it was fun to bridge beauty into her new movie.
The 32-year-old actress first achieved fame for her role as Joey Potter in television drama Dawsons Creek from 1998 to 2003, and her movie roles include Batman Begins and The Gift.
The Hollywood star is now appearing in short film The Decision where she plays Joan Hudson a high-profile actress who decides to sack her colourist and dye her own hair instead. She collaborated on the project with hair care provider John Frieda to showcase the company's Precision Foam Colour product.
Katie who attended the premiere of the film in New York last night says it was fun to merge beauty and film-making together.
"You know this was a really fun project to work on and a great opportunity to bridge movies into beauty and I had a wonderful time working with John Frieda," she told ET. "I worked with [celebrity hairstylist] Harry Josh, he did my hair, it was really fun. It was something different, it was sort of a period look, so we had a good time," she added.
The brunette beauty says it was great to be involved in a project that is accessible to all women. Katie believes beauty is an important part of every womans life and needs to be embraced and captured in film.
I love the idea of doing a short film about something I feel is really important to women, she added. I also love being part of promoting a product that is available to all women. (C) Cover Media
