Katy Perry fears fleeting success

4th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katy Perry has confessed she worries about fame being fleeting.

The 26-year-old singer shot to international fame in 2008 with the provocative hit single I Kissed a Girl and she has gone on to become one of the worlds best-loved pop stars.

Katy is keen to point out that her success wasnt overnight though, and she still has memories of desperately trying to make it as a star fresh in her mind.

I don't take anything for granted. There are so many different talents out there just waiting to be found. There are 500 other girls right behind me. And I know that, because I was one of them, she told Vanity Fairs June edition.

I remember what it's like to be someone who's always trying to get there - sending out tons of e-mails... trying to connect with some person who could connect me with some other person. And I wouldn't be working at this pace now if I didn't truly know that fame is fleeting."

The star is thrilled with how her career has panned out, and never listens to what critics have to say.

Katy married British funnyman Russell Brand in October last year, and she similarly ignores what naysayers have to say concerning her relationship.

I dont care what people say about my relationship; I dont care what they say about my boobs. People are buying my songs; I have a sold-out tour. Im getting incredible feedback from my music, she asserted.

The singer also took the time to praise husband Russell for being such an honest and trustworthy partner. She recalled the moment Russell posted a picture of her without make-up on social-networking site Twitter last year, saying she didnt mind at all.

"We were just messing around," smiled the songstress. "I didn't really care. I mean, when I go to rehearsals I look like that. I'm every woman. It takes a village to make me who I am ... You don't have to wake up looking like, you know, Gisele [Bndchen]." (C) Cover Media
