Kaylee DeFer is "not very similar" to her Gossip Girl character.

The American actress is currently starring in the hit CW series as Ivy Dickens, a con artist who assumes the role of Serena van der Woodsen's cousin Charlie Rhodes.

Kaylee doesn't see any resemblances between herself and affluent Upper East Sider Ivy.

"Not very similar at all I spend all my money mostly on bills and food," she said in an interview with the UK edition of OK! magazine.

"The beautiful clothes you see me in are borrowed."

Kaylee has discussed her character's progression on the popular TV show. The star would love to get romantically involved with one of her onscreen co-stars.

"That's a tough one," she mused when asked about her ideal storyline.

"If I were to have a say I would make her into a villain. I always love a villain!"
