November 11, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Kaun Banega Crorepati 4 was about to witness its first winner winning the Rs 1 crore on Tuesdays episode, but unfortunately missed the opportunity due to sheer bad luck!

Now, whether it was a bad luck for the contestant or for the show, is just another matter of concern. But why couldnt this contestant from Meerut win his 1crore and take it too?

Well, it so happened that Mr.Prashant Batar from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, seemed to have hit the right chord from the beginning of the question-answer session. He answered every question confidently and even reached the Rs.50 lakh tagline without using a single lifeline.

This contestant had actually felt the pulse of the entire KBC watchers racing into the fast track! However, when he reached the Rs.1 crore mark, he still had one lifeline left with him. This lifeline was enough to keep up his confidence to jump on to the next level, which was the jackpot question with prize money of Rs.5 crore!

Thus, when host Amitabh Bachchan had put across the final question with the 5 crore tag, it was almost a moment of history being created on the season 4 of KBC. Unfortunately, the contestant failed to answer the question correctly even with the last lifeline that he had. Despite that, he went on to risk answering it on his own gut feeling, which turned out to be a squib.

Sadly, Prashant Batar had to go home with the cheque of Rs. 3, 20,000. Well, he just couldnt have his cake and eat it too and the irony of the situation at that point of time for the contestant was that he had got into the destiny mark of getting the Rs. 1crore cheque from Mr. Amitabh Bachchan the very optimistic host of the show, but he couldnt take the cheque home.
