After making a rocking debut with Ranbir Kapoor in 'Rockstar', Nargis Fakhri was touted as the hottest tinsel town property. However, her career didn't quite take off the way it was expected to.

But Nargis didn't give up, as she continued learning Bollywood dancing and took Hindi tuitions for better prospects as an actress.

In the recent past, she was signed for 'Khiladi 786' but was replaced by Asin for reasons unknown, and now she has lost on another big opportunity yet again.

Filmmaker Punit Malhotra had approached Nargis to do a special dance number in his forthcoming film 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein' that is being produced under filmmaker Karan Johar's banner 'Dharma Productions'. Starring Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan in the lead, the film had a space for a special number which was offered to Nargis.

She too was excited and lapped the offer without wasting any time as the song could do wonders to her current down trotted career. But as fate would have it, the actress lost the item number as the dates for shoot clashed with the schedule of her forthcoming film 'Madras Café'.

The team is now looking for another actress to replace Nargis in the item song.
