(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Keira Knightley says Pirates of the Caribbean is frivolous fun.
The young British actress is set to appear in new film Never Let Me Go, alongside co-stars Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield. With the film expected to attract an art house audience, Keira is well aware that it could disappoint those expecting to see the star in a typical blockbuster movie.
The 25-year-old does believe there is enough space in modern entertainment for both types of films to co-exist.
I dont know its kind of incomparable. Pirates is a big huge Hollywood extravaganza. Its based on a theme park ride so youre not exactly diving into the theme park ride to grab the essence of it. It is what it is, its for fun and frivolity and I think there is a huge place for that, it's escapism and we all need a bit of that. Turn our brains off and have a lovely time, she told British newspaper The Daily Telegraph.
Keira confirmed that contrary to most major blockbuster films, Never Let Me Go manages to test its audience on a deeper level.
This is something very different. This film is a challenge and its for audiences to go and be challenged, and it was a challenge making it. It was also incredibly fun, she added. (C) Cover Media
