(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Pete Wentz is in denial that his marriage is over, according to a source.

The 31-year-old, who rose to fame as a member of rock band Fall Out Boy, recently announced he was to split from wife Ashlee Simpson, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair married in May 2008 and have two-year-old son, Bronx.

However, according to the source, Pete still harbours hope that the pair will rekindle their union.

Pete is in denial that the marriage is over, He seems to think that if he turns on the charm he can sweet talk Ashlee into changing her mind and giving it another go, the source told Radar online magazine.

It was reported that it was Ashlee who initiated proceedings for the split, and will attempt to seek spousal and child support from the bassist.

The source also believes it was Petes incessant touring with Fall Out Boy and new band Black Cards, that affected the relationship, and remains the key to a possible reconciliation.

Im pretty sure though that if Pete committed to quit touring and promised Ashlee that he would be there full time for her and Bronx, then she would change her mind. But thats just not going to happen, the source continued, before adding When Fall Out Boy went on hiatus Pete was miserable he really missed the camaraderie of being in a band and the thrill of performing live.
