(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kelis is unfazed by the fact that she's not perfect.

The Grammy Award-winning songstress is best known for her tracks including 2003 hit Milkshake, which helped propel her third album Tasty to mainstream success.

The 31-year-old star released her record Flesh Tone last year, which included the hit Acapella with David Guetta. Despite her success, Kelis is realistic about the fact that she'll not always be at the "top of [her] game".

The singer keeps a grounded attitude towards her music as she knows it's as easy to fail as it is to succeed.

"I've so much life tapped into a short period of time. You go through trial and error and either you figure it out or you fail and I'm not one for failure so I had to work it out!" she revealed in an interview with Pride magazine. "I am very aware of when I am wrong and what I'm not good at. It's like OK, I'm not perfect. I'm not always top of my game. But whatever. Acknowledge your flaws and move on because there are things you are great at. Focus on those."

Kelis is very honest. The gorgeous star says her "frank" attitude often irritates those closest to her, but she is always respected for her honesty.

"I'm incredibly frank to the point where I sometimes annoy my girlfriends but they respect the fact that I'm real!" she laughed. (C) Cover Media
