(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kim Kardashian once received a puppy as a Christmas gift, but it died of snail poisoning within two weeks.

The 30-year-old reality star has enjoyed another fruitful period in the public eye recently, but has confessed the end of the year often leaves her with mixed emotions. Kim recalls the festive period when she was presented with a puppy for a present only for the canine to perish soon after.

"Valentina was its name, but then she died two weeks later of snail poisoning. You know when snails leave a little trail? [Valentina] got super excited and ate it and died," she told JustJared.com

Despite the tragedy Kim still has fond memories of Christmases past, in stark contrast to her sister Kourtney. The curvy star believes their differing personalities meant they approached the holidays with a slightly different spirit.

"Kourtney would come down [Christmas morning] and wouldn't care, and she didn't really care that it was Christmas, while I was like, 'Oh my God! I got a puppy!' We were so different! Kourtney never just cared about the holiday, but I love Christmas, it's our family's favourite holiday," she added. (C) Cover Media
