(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kim Kardashian suffers from a serious skin condition, she has confirmed.
The 30-year-old star has recently been diagnosed with psoriasis, which is non-curable but remarkably common, normally producing thick patches or spots of dry skin that are red or pink. Kim's mother Kris Jenner has been diagnosed with this condition for decades. Possibly hereditary, Kim did not know for sure whether or not she would contract it. Now that it is confirmed Kim does in fact suffer from psoriasis, she is less than pleased.
"I'd heard of [psoriasis] before because my mom has always had it, but she didn't have red flaky dots all over her," said Kim to Life and Style magazine.
Kim is mortified about how her abrasions may affect her career. There is already a lot of pressure to achieve ideal beauty in her profession, and this diagnosis exacerbates Kim's stress about looking good at all times.
"People don't understand the pressure on me to look perfect," said Kim. "When I gain a pound, it's in the headlines, so imagine what the tabloids will do to me when they see all these spots."
Details about Kim's diagnosis will be revealed on her television show Keeping Up with the Kardashians this season. (C) Cover Media
