Films such as 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' (2012) and 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' (2013), which were produced by Karan Johar and presented and distributed by Siddharth Roy Kapur's company, it was rumored that the two were all set to form a banner to make films.

The rumours got another boast after Siddharth's long time partner Ronnie Screwvala parted way with him in 2013, and during the same time Karan's bond with Roy got stronger. However, Karan denies any such intention.

"Siddharth is a dear friend and a business associate, and that is that. I'm not joining hands with anyone. I’m very proud to run my company myself, and take the banner that my father (late film-maker Yash Johar) founded forward," he stated to clear the matter once and for all.
