Kollywood has always come to the help, whenever there is a need. Now that the areas in and around Cuddalore district were completely devastated by Thane cyclone, our actors and actresses have offered a helping hand.

On Thursday, South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) president R Sarath Kumar met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at the State Secretariat in Chennai and presented her a cheque for Rs five lakh on behalf of the association.

From his personal funds, Sarath, who is also the president of All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi, gave Rs 15 lakh for the cause. It is to be noted that the Chief Minister recently made a public appeal to donate liberally to help cyclone victims.

Following her request, personalities from film industry and other walks of life have been making a beeline to the Secretariat to personally meet the CM and to offer their donations for the cause. Recently, Vijay visited Cuddalore and helped out in rehabilitating the affected people.
