(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kris Humphries is reportedly very upset that his wife Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce today.
It was announced earlier today that the 31-year-old reality star is calling an end to her short-lived marriage just 72 days after tying the knot and the legal papers have now been submitted.
TMZ claims that Kris is "bummed" at the turn of events and did not know Kim was actually filing legal papers until this morning.
Kris, who is apparently very religious and does not believe in divorce, has told friends that he and Kim had discussed the possibility of ending their union but he believed they could work things out.
The basketball player, 26, has also told friends that rumours he cheated on Kim are inaccurate.
It is also being reported that the reason for the split is that Kim did not want to move to Kris's native Minnesota.
He apparently thought Kim was just as passionate as he was about moving to be close to his family, but they are said to have gotten caught up in the wedding fuss and thought it would figure itself out after they said "I do".
Sources have told the site that it is not a bad breakup but that the pair have just realised that their relationship is not meant to be long term.
Meanwhile, insiders have told RadarOnline that Kim's huge ego contributed to the split.
"She doesn't want to live off camera. She is totally insecure and addicted to fame," a friend told the site.
"Everything is about her and her career, it was never about we (them as a couple) always about me (her).
"She wouldn't change her name, didn't like Minnesota, not ready for kids, pretty much anything he wanted or liked she didn't. They never should have gotten married in the first place."
"It was all way too fast she will do anything for attention she is completely self absorbed, he got caught up in the excitement but they have nothing in common."
"Don't think it's a coincidence filing/announcing on Halloween she will be profiting off of this for years to come! Not to mention her mom's book comes out tomorrow. She's crafty."
Kris and Kim's lavish wedding on August 20 in Montecito California cost a reported $10 million which is $138,888 for every day since then.
Meanwhile, it is business as usual for Kim and she tweeted earlier today about the opening of her new store in Las Vegas. She has yet to make a statement about the divorce filing.
Kim's reality show producer and friend Ryan Seacrest tweeted confirmation of the news.
"Yes, @KimKardashian is filing for divorce this morning, touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins," he wrote.
Kim is being represented by Hollywood attorney Laura Wasser who has also worked for Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie in their divorces. The couple reportedly signed a prenuptial agreement. (C) Cover Media
